SATE was awarded an ESA project, as subcontractor of OHB System and in partnership with KEPLER, for a study named Intelligent Platform for Constellations. The study has the objective to define and assess all the key aspects related to the design and operations of an intelligent system achieving a significantly increased level of autonomy, i.e. the capability to adapt to evolving conditions and implement new on-board decision making approaches. The project will define the path towards the achievement of the following expected benefits:

  • Reduced human involvement
  • Better handling of increased system complexity
  • Ability to react in real-time in case of unexpected events
  • Higher predictability under verified conditions

SATE is involved to provide system engineering and AI expertise to define requirements and building blocks of the future autonomy functionalities.
