The APP4AD project was completed successfully. SATE was in charge of the definition and implementation of an AI-based onboard SW prototype for rovers autonomy during planetary exploration. The purpose of the onboard SW under SATE responsibility was to detect and classify objects in the images acquired by the rover to identify possible targets of scientific interest. The prototype was tested and demonstrated in a simulated scenario.
